Detailed career path

Modern Hospital

Dr. Hasanova has worked at Modern Hospital since its early years. She took part in building the hospital's coloproctology service and the Women's Proctology Center. On Modern Hospital's official website, the Women's Proctology Center is described as a center “within the Coloproctology Department, formed of female doctors and medical staff.” There, operations are performed by female surgeon-proctologists, and anesthesia is given by female anesthesiologists.

Why women's proctology?

In the early 2010s, Dr. Hasanova created an educational page titled “Qadın Proktologiyası — Woman's Proctology”. Its goal was to reduce the reluctance and embarrassment women feel and to encourage them to see a doctor in time. In her own words: “If a woman in a family is healthy, that family is healthy.” However, she also sees and treats male patients.

Medical philosophy

Every patient is unique. The aim is not only to relieve symptoms but to find the cause of the problem and to ensure the patient's emotional comfort. Dr. Hasanova prefers to stay with the patient from the examination to the end of the operation, and afterward at follow-up visits. In operations performed under spinal anesthesia, she is at the patient's side from the start of the operation.

Multidisciplinary approach

Proctological problems sometimes require the involvement of other specialties as well. When needed, Dr. Hasanova refers the patient to colleagues at Modern Hospital: endoscopists (colonoscopy, gastroscopy), radiologists (ultrasound, MRI), gastroenterologists, gynecologists, endocrinologists and physiotherapists. The treatment plan is drawn up jointly.
